| Learn Without Limits Launches Instant Math Help
Potomac, Maryland, January 7, 2007—Tutors Without Limits has just been renamed Learn Without Limits. The change according to CEO Glynn Willett reflects, "Our change in focus from tutoring to instant homework help is because students online do not want the traditional tutoring approach but instead need instant help to become unstuck while solving problems. We have also decided to focus strictly on math, especially algebra, because this is where most students need help." Instant math help helps students with their questions. In contrast, tutoring teaches by having tutors asking more questions to the students. The ability of students to quickly access a teacher and ask questions using IM chat is exactly what students are looking for while doing their math homework. Learn Without Limits sees instant math help as a lifesaver for students struggling with algebra and the key for at-risk schools for improving their math scores. Willet also adds another major reason for the name change, "In TWL, we saw the potential for offering tutoring services from the English speaking countries of Pakistan and India by connecting students and teachers together. However, we found the cultural differences too great to overcome by simply connecting students to tutors. Students were quite dissatisfied with many of the tutors. As a result, Learn Without Limits focused on math and algebra and only hired the best tutors from over 10,000 teachers who applied. Now our student’s satisfaction rate is 4.91 (on a scale of 5)." As Willett CEO observed, "There are literally millions of students looking for homework answers online everyday. But it’s more than just having answers; a real teaching cloud develops because the answers are affordable. For as little as $20 a month—this is less than a dollar a day—students can ask an unlimited number of questions." |
