| GI College Students Beat the Algebra Rap
Potomac, Maryland, November 1, 2007—Math is a problem (pun intended) whether it be Algebra or Calculus. But there is a simple answer. Instead of dropping the class or spending hours of wasted time trying to figure out what is going on, GI college students are now asking as many questions as they need to with their own instant tutor and better yet, the GI Bill will cover the tutorial assistance. Active military and GIs covered by the GI Bill are reimbursed up to $100/mo for the cost of hiring a personal tutor. The VA tutoring program allows them to choose their own tutor. To be eligible for the GI Bill tutorial assistance, the tutoring must be for a class in which the student is currently enrolled. Additional eligibility requirement include that the course must be necessary for the completion of the student’s approved program. The student must also be training at one-half time or more in a post-secondary program at an educational institution. GIs may collect up to a total of $600 without affecting their entitlement with a total maximum benefit of $1,200. The tutorial assistance GIs get will be in addition to their regular monthly education benefits for going to school. For payments beyond $600, the VA figures the entitlement charge by dividing the amount paid beyond $600 by the student’s full-time rate for schooling. All Learn Without Limits tutors are highly qualified and meet the requirements set by the VA. Learn Without Limits will pre-fill VA form 22-1990T for GIs for their reimbursement. |
